Wind impediment
风痹 〔風痹〕fēng bì
Also moving impediment. An impediment (bì) pattern attributed to wind-cold-damp invading the limbs and channels and characterized by wandering pain, which indicates that wind is the dominant evil.
Medicinal therapy: Treat primarily by dispelling wind and secondarily by dispelling cold and disinhibited dampness. Blood-supplementing medicinals are often used. Applicable formulas include
Acumoxatherapy: Main points: GB-20 (Wind Pool, 风池 fēng chí), GV-16 (Wind Mansion, 风府 fēng fǔ), BL-17 (Diaphragm Transport, 膈俞 gé shù), SP-10 (Sea of Blood, 血海 xuè hǎi), and SP-6 (Three Yīn Intersection, 三阴交 sān yīn jiāo).
