White-face sand

白面痧 〔白面痧〕bái miàn shā

Erupting measles characterized by a somber-white complexion, associated with improper eruption, cold limbs, and purple lips, and attributed to major depletion of center qì and nonmovement of spleen yáng. Clinically, it is understood to be related to great sweating, diarrhea, or constitutional weakness.

Medicinal therapy: Treat by upraising and boosting qì with variations of Center-Supplementing Qì-Boosting Decoction (补中益气汤 bǔ zhōng yì qì tāng).
