Water-soaking sore

水渍疮 〔水漬瘡〕shuǐ zì chuāng

A sore, usually of the hand, attributable to long soaking in water and local friction. A water-soaking sore starts with swelling, white putrefaction, and wrinkling, that with continued friction and soaking becomes painful and itchy.

Biomedical correspondence: paddy field dermatitis.

Medicinal therapy: Treat by washing in a decoction of alum (Alumen, 白矾 bái fán). Indigo Powder (青黛散 qīng dài sǎn) can be applied if the skin is ruptured.
