胞脉 〔胞脈〕 bāo mài

Also uterine network vessels. The vessels that supply the uterus, permit menstruation, and nourish the fetus. They include the uterine parts of the thoroughfare (chōng) and controlling (rèn) vessels. Plain Questions (素问 sù wèn, píng rè bìng lùn) states, The uterine vessels home to the heart and net the uterus. When the menses come, the uterine vessels close. The Magic Pivot (灵枢 líng shū) states, The thoroughfare (chōng) and controlling (rèn) vessels start in the uterus.
