Medicinal therapy: Dispel wind, clear heat, and eliminate dampness. Treatment depends on evil prevalence. If dampness is predominant, use Dampness-Eliminating Decoction (除湿汤chú shī tāng). If wind prevails, use Bupleurum Powder (柴胡散chái hú sǎn). If heat prevails, use Three Yellows Heart-Draining Decoction (三黄泻心汤sān huáng xiè xīn tāng). Egg Yolk Paste (鸡蛋黄油膏jī dàn huáng yóu gāo), which is made by cooking egg yolks in oil and adding a pinch of ground processed calamine (Calamina, 炉甘石lú gān shí) and borneol (Borneolum, 冰片bīng piàn), may be applied topically.
Acumoxatherapy: Moxa Thumb Bone Hollow (大骨空dà gǔ kōng), Little Finger Bone Hollow (小骨空xiǎo gǔ kōng), and GB-20 (Wind Pool, 风池 fēng chí), or needle with drainage.
