True qì

真气 〔真氣〕 zhēn qì

1. Original qì or right qì. The Inner Classic (内经 nèi jīng) states, True qì is the product of that which is received from Heaven combined with grain qì, and which makes the body full. Heaven is explained as meaning congenital source qì.

2. Heart qì. Plain Questions (素问 sù wèn, píng rè bìng lùn) states, Heart qì ascends counterflow; hence the mouth is dry and bitter.
