Take drenched
冲服 〔沖服〕 chōng fú
Swallowing (powders, paste, or glue) mixed with several times the volume of cold, warm, or hot water or other fluid. Medicinals that should not or need not be decocted are taken drenched to facilitate swallowing. Some medicinals such as amber (Succinum, 琥珀 hǔ pò), cinnabar (Cinnabaris, 朱砂 zhū shā), or notoginseng (Notoginseng Radix, 三七 sān qī) that are expensive or that should not be decocted are ground to a fine powder and mixed with warm water or an accompanying decoction and swallowed. Some gelatinous medicinals or mineral salts such as ass hide glue (Asini Corii Colla, 阿胶 ē jiāo), mirabilite (Natrii Sulfas, 芒硝 máng xiāo), or malt sugar (Maltosum, 饴糖 yí táng) can be dissolved in warm water or an accompanying decoction.
