Stirred pulse
动脉 〔動脈〕dòng mài
A forceful pulse that is a combination of rapid, slippery, and short pulses. It is traditionally described as being like a bean that is bobbing. According to some sources, the stirred pulse is only felt at the bar (not generally recognized nowadays). The stirred pulse is a sign of fright or and fear or pain. Fright causes derangement of qì; pain causes binding of qì.
