Spleen is averse to dampness
脾恶湿 〔脾惡濕〕pí wù shī
The activity of the spleen is easily affected by dampness invading the body from outside. And when spleen qì is weak so that splenic movement and transformation is affected, fluids can accumulate as dampness in the body. Dampness is identified by the presence of sloppy stool diarrhea, heavy-headedness, generalized feeling of heaviness, cumbersome fatigued limbs, and fullness in the stomach duct and abdomen, and by a white slimy tongue fur. This condition is often described by damp encumbering spleen-earth.
