Spittle

唾 〔唾〕tuò

One of the five humors. Spittle is one of the fluids of the mouth, the other being drool. These two together are known as drool-spittle or spittle humor (saliva). The kidney clasps the root of the tongue connecting with CV-23 (Ridge Spring, 廉泉 lián quán) under the tongue. Kidney vacuity water flood is characterized by clear cold spittle humor. Kidney yīn vacuity with vacuity fire flaming upward can cause scant spittle and dry throat accompanied by a strange fishy, salty taste in the mouth.
