Retracted scrotum

囊缩 〔囊縮〕náng suō

Also retraction of the scrotum; retracted testicles. The drawing of the scrotum into the body. Retracted scrotum is usually a severe condition and is observed in both heat and cold patterns. yáng brightness (yáng míng) exuberant heat passing to reverting yīn (jué yīn) is treated by emergency precipitation to preserve yīn with formulas such as Major Qì-Coordinating Decoction (大承气汤 dà chéng qì tāng), whereas cold evil directly striking the lesser yīn (shào yīn) is treated with Counterflow Cold Decoction (四逆汤 sì nì tāng) or Chinese Angelica Counterflow Cold Decoction (当归四逆汤 dāng guī sì nì tāng).
