Purple and white patch wind
紫白癜风 〔紫白癜風〕zǐ bái diàn fēng
Also sweat macules. A condition characterized by purple-brown or gray-white patches; attributed to stagnant qì and congealing blood traceable to accumulated heat in the organs and contraction of summerheat-damp (or wind-damp). Purple and white patch wind first appears as small speckles or patches, that gradually merge. The patches are clearly circumscribed and are characterized by smooth skin that bears a sheen, that may scale on scratching, and that may sometimes itch. The condition is milder in the winter than in the summer.
Biomedical correspondence: dermatomycosis microsporina (tinea versicolor, pityriasis versicolor).
