因人制宜 〔因人制宜〕yīn rén zhì yí

To determine what is suitable for patients according to their constitution, sex, age, lifestyle, and history. For example, males and females have physiological differences that have to be considered when deciding treatment; children tend to have tender, weak bowels and viscera, whereas elderly people suffer from debilitation of qì and blood so that treatment must be adjusted according to age.
