Phlegm and qì binding together

痰气互结 〔痰氣互結〕tán qì hù jié

Also phlegm and qì obstructing each other; binding depression of phlegm and qì. Phlegm turbidity being caused to bind in the throat or chest by depressed qì. The main signs are plum-pit qì, glomus and oppression or scurrying pain in the chest and diaphragm, affect-mind depression, impatience, agitation, and irascibility. Other signs include cough with thick phlegm, sighing, and menstrual irregularities. The tongue is thick and slimy. The pulse is stringlike and slippery. See plum-pit qì.
