Moxibustion on salt
隔盐灸 〔隔鹽灸〕gén yán jiǔ
Burning of moxa cones on salt as an insulating medium. Moxibustion on salt is usually performed on the umbilicus. The umbilicus is filled with table salt, and a large cone of moxa is burned on top of the salt. This method is effective for the treatment of cold damage yīn patterns, cholera, and wind stroke desertion patterns. It can return yáng, stem counterflow and stem desertion.
