Menstrual vomiting

经来呕吐 〔經來嘔吐〕jīng lái ǒu tù

Vomiting during menstruation. Menstrual vomiting is attributable to nontransformation of ingested fluids or food damage, the former being characterized by vomiting of water matter and the latter by stomach pain.

Medicinal therapy: Damage by ingested fluids can be treated with clove (Caryophylli Flos, 丁香 dīng xiāng), dried ginger (Zingiberis Rhizoma, 干姜 gān jiāng), and white atractylodes (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma, 白朮 bái zhú) ground to a powder, taking 5g at a time mixed with rice decoction. Food damage is treated by dispersing food and abducting stagnation with Costusroot and Amomum Six Gentlemen Decoction (香砂六君子汤 xiāng shā liù jūn zǐ tāng). See vomiting (and retching).
