Lung yīn
肺阴 〔肺陰〕 fèi yīn
Also pulmonary liquid; lung liquid. The fluids that keep the lung moist. Lung yīn is dependent upon the nourishment from the essence of grain and water transmitted upward by the spleen and the moisturization provided by kidney. It stands in complementary opposition to lung qì. Evil heat or dryness qì invading the lung or internal injury to the lung can in time cause damage to lung yīn, which manifests as a dry cold, phlegm-flecked blood, tidal heat, and night sweating.
