Any of a group of points located on the lower limbs, used to treat disease of the six bowels. Each organ has a uniting point located on its associated channel in the vicinity of the elbows or knees (LI-11, TB-10, and SI-8, see transport point). In addition to these, the three bowels associated with the yáng channels of the arm each have a uniting point located on one of the yáng channels of the foot. The lower uniting points of the small and large intestines are located on the stomach channel at ST-37 (Upper Great Hollow, 上巨虚 shàng jù xū) and ST-39 (Lower Great Hollow, 下巨虚 xià jù xū) respectively, whereas that of the triple burner is on the bladder channel at BL-39 (Bend Yáng, 委阳 wěi yáng). Each point is used to treat disease of their respective bowel. The lower uniting points of each channel and their indications are as follows: Stomach channel: ST-36 (Leg Three Lǐ, 足三里 zú sān lǐ), poor digestion, stomach duct pain and distension, abdominal pain, constipation, and diarrhea. Large intestine: ST-37 (Upper Great Hollow, 上巨虚 shàng jù xū), intestinal welling-abscess (yōng) (appendicitis), food diarrhea. Small Intestine: ST-39 (Lower Great Hollow, 下巨虚 xià jù xū), diarrhea, abdominal pain, and dysentery. Gallbladder: GB-34 (Yáng Mound Spring, 阳陵泉 yáng líng quán), bitter taste in mouth, vomiting, and cholecystitis. Bladder: BL-40 (Bend Center, 委中 wěi zhōng), dribbling urinary block, and enuresis. Triple Burner: BL-39 (Bend Yáng, 委阳 wěi yáng), dribbling urinary block, and enuresis.
