Liver water

肝水 〔肝水〕 gān shuǐ

One of the five waters spoken of in Essential Prescriptions of the Golden Cabinet (金匮要略 jīn guì yào lüè). Water swelling in liver disease, characterized by painful distension and fullness in the rib-side preventing the patient from turning over, together with sometimes copious, sometimes scant urine.
