Farsightedness

能远怯近 〔能遠怯近〕néng yuǎn qiè jìn

Ability to see distant but not close objects clearly, usually without any visible changes within the eye. Farsightedness is attributed to insufficiency of yīn and superabundance of yáng, or to congenital causes.

Biomedical correspondence: hyperopia; in the elderly, presbyopia.

Medicinal therapy: Enrich yīn and brighten the eyes with formulas such as Lycium Berry, Chrysanthemum, and Rehmannia Pill (杞菊地黄丸 qǐ jú dì huáng wán).
