Dispersing concretions, conglomerations, accumulations, and gatherings

消癥瘕积聚 〔消癥瘕積聚〕xiāo zhēng jiǎ jī jù

The method of treating concretions, conglomerations, accumulations, and gatherings, i.e., any masses in the abdomen. This method makes use of channel-freeing stasis-dispelling medicinals such as peach kernel (Persicae Semen, 桃仁 táo rén), carthamus (Carthami Flos, 红花 hóng huā), moutan (Moutan Cortex, 牡丹皮 mǔ dān pí), red peony (Paeoniae Radix Rubra, 赤芍药 chì sháo yào), and cinnamon twig (Cinnamomi Ramulus, 桂枝 guì zhī).

Representative formulas include Cinnamon Twig and Poria Pill (桂枝茯苓丸 guì zhī fú líng wán) and Turtle Shell Decocted Pill (鳖甲煎丸 biē jiǎ jiān wán).
