Damp-heat diarrhea

湿热泻 〔濕熱瀉〕 shī rè xiè

Diarrhea due to damp-heat brewing and binding in the stomach and intestines. Damp-heat diarrhea is thick yellow diarrhea with abdominal pain and heat, red face, and thirst. It mostly occurs in the summer.

Medicinal therapy: Use Poria Five Powder (五苓散 wǔ líng sǎn) plus gypsum (Gypsum Fibrosum, 石膏 shí gāo), licorice (Glycyrrhizae Radix, 甘草 gān cǎo), and trifoliate akebia (Akebiae Trifoliatae Caulis, 木通 mù tōng).
