Origin-Boosting Powder
益元散 〔益元散〕 yì yuán sǎn
Source: Hé Jiān Liù Shū 河间六书
Ingredients
- Huá shí (滑石 Talcum , talcum) 180g
- Shēng gān cǎo (生甘草 Glycyrrhizae Radix Cruda, raw licorice [root]) 30g
- Zhū shā (朱砂 Cinnabaris , cinnabar) 9g
Actions: Clears summerheat and disinhibits dampness; settles the heart and quiets the spirit.
Indications: Contraction of summerheat-damp with heart vexation.

Method: Grind to a powder.
Dosage: 9g at a time, mixed with a decoction of juncus (dēng xīn cǎo).
Notes: This is a variant of Liù yī sǎn (六一散 Six-to-One Powder).
