Point name meaning:

This point is located just below the stomach, as if it were assuming a position of support for the ample fullness of the stomach. When the stomach is full it extends to this point. ST-20 can be employed to treat this fullness, and to treat fullness in the abdomen and ribs. Given this, it can be said that the point assumes responsibility for fullness. In this respect the name is a reminder of both the location and function of the point. See acupoint names: origins, meanings, and translations.
