Use: Medicinal

Properties: Bitter and acrid; cool; toxic.

Channel entry: Lung and spleen channels.

Actions and indications: Kills worms, transforms accumulations, disperses swelling, and disperses stasis. Treats bald scalp sores (tū chuāng); malarial disease; child gān accumulation; dysentery; swollen welling-abscesses (yōng zhǒng), boils, and sores; scrofula.

Dosage and method: Oral: Decoct (6–12g) or grind to a powder. Topical: Decoct as a wash or apply crushed.
