Use: Medicinal

Properties: Root: Bitter stem and leaves: Slightly sweet*; cold*.

Actions and indications: Clears heat, cools the blood, disinhibits urine, and resolves toxin. Treats encaphilitis B; coughing of blood due to pulmonary tuberculosis; strangury-turbidity (lìn zhuó); herpes zoster; clove sores (dīng chuāng); and boils; snake bites.

Dosage and method: Oral: Decoct (60–20g) or extract juice by crushing. Topical: Apply crushed and apply juice extracted by crushing.
