Use: Medicinal

Properties: Acrid; warm; nontoxic*.

Actions and indications: Warms the center, disperses cold, dispels wind, and quickens the blood. Treats abdominal cold pain; wind-damp sinew and bone pain; taxation damage vomiting of blood (blood ejection); blood stasis due to injury from knocks and falls; menstrual irregularities.

Dosage and method: Oral: Decoct (3–6g) or steep in wine. Topical: Apply crushed or decoct as a wash.
