Use: Alimentary

Properties: Sweet; balanced.

Channel entry: Spleen and kidney channels.

Actions and indications: Quickens the blood, disinhibits water, dispels wind, and resolves toxin. Also resolves the toxin of other medicinals when combined with them. Treats water swelling and distension and fullness; wind toxin leg qì (jiǎo qì); wind impediment (fēng bì); postpartum wind tetany and clenched jaw; toxin swelling of welling-abscesses (yōng) and sores.

Dosage and method: Oral: Decoct (9–30g); use in pills and powders. Topical: Grind and sprinkle on; boil and apply juice.
