Use: Medicinal and alimentary

Properties: Bitter and sweet; cool; nontoxic*.

Channel entry: Heart, lung, spleen, and kidney channels.*

Actions and indications: Supplements vacuity and boosts essence; clears heat, suppresses thirst, dispels wind and brightens the eyes. Treats vacuity taxation heat effusion; vexation and thirst; painful red eyes; cloudy vision; eye screens; sparrow blindness (night blindness); flooding and spotting; vaginal discharge; swollen heat-toxin sores.

Dosage and method: Oral: Decoct fresh leaf (60–240g), cook as food, or crush. Topical: Decoct as a wash or extract the juice by crushing for use as eye drops.
