Properties: Acrid and bitter*; warm*; highly toxic*.

Actions and indications: Quickens the blood and dispels stasis; quickens network vessel flow and relieves pain.* Treats lumbar muscle strain; sprains and contusions; rheumatic joint pain; intercostal neuralgia.*

Dosage and method: Oral: Grind to a powder (50–100 mg 1–2 a day with wine or water).
