Use: Alimentary

Properties: Sweet and bland; cool.

Channel entry: Lung, large and small intestines, and bladder channels.

Actions and indications: Disinhibits water; disperses phlegm; clears heat, and resolves toxin. Treats water swelling; distension and fullness; leg qì (jiǎo qì); cough and panting; summerheat; vexation and oppression; dispersion-thirst (xiāo kě); diarrhea and dysentery; swollen welling-abscesses (yōng zhǒng); hemorrhoids.

Dosage and method: Oral: Decoct (60–120g). Topical: Apply crushed or decoct as a wash.
