Use: Medicinal

Properties: Bitter and slightly sweet; cold; nontoxic*.

Actions and indications: Resolves the exterior, clears heat, and kills worms. Treats hot body due to common cold; taxation damage cough; tidal heat effusion; child gān heat effusion; malarial disease; mouth sores; scab (jiè) and lichen (xiǎn); eczema.

Dosage and method: Oral: Decoct (4.5–9g) or extract juice by crushing. Topical: Decoct as a wash.
