Properties: Sour and bitter; warm; nontoxic*.

Channel entry: Liver and stomach channels.

Indications:

Disperses stasis, stanches bleeding, resolves toxin, and kills worms.

postpartum blood dizziness; strings and aggregations (xián pǐ); concretions and conglomerations; jaundice; yellow sweating; vomiting of blood (blood ejection); nosebleed (nǜ xuè); itchy genitals; swelling of welling- and flat-abscesses (yōng jū), and sores.

Notes: Also used in calcining (quenching in vinegar).
