Properties: Bitter, sweet, and astringent^✽; cool or cold.^✽

Actions and indications: Clears heat and resolves toxin; disperses swelling and stanches bleeding. Treats welling- and flat-abscesses (yōng jū); sore-toxin; pulmonary welling-abscesses (yōng); injury from knocks and falls; bleeding from knife wounds.

Dosage and method: Oral: Decoct (9–15g dried, 15–30g fresh) or extract the juice. Topical: Apply crushed.
