Use: Medicinal

Properties: Bitter; cold; nontoxic.

Actions and indications: Clears heat; resolves toxin; disperses swelling; relieves pain; engenders flesh and muscle. Treats red and white dysentery; sore throat; red eyes; yellow obesity; strangury; lower-body gān; knife wounds; welling- and flat-abscesses (yōng jū); scrofula; ulceration of the skin; eczema; scalds.

Dosage and method: Oral: Decoct (9–15g). Topical: Grind and apply mixed or apply crushed.
