太白三七 〔太白三七〕 tài bái sān qī

Origin in unofficial sources: Tongoloa dunnii (Boiss.) Wolff

Use: Medicinal

Properties: Sweet and slightly bitter; balanced.

Actions and indications: Stanches bleeding and settles pain; quickens the blood and disperses stasis; dispels wind-damp; strengthens sinew and bone. Treats injury from knocks and falls; bleeding from external injury; flooding; lumbar, leg or generalized wind-damp pain.

Dosage and method: Oral: Decoct (6–9g), use in powder form, or steep in wine. Topical: Grind and sprinkle on affected area.
