Properties: Bitter; balanced.

Actions and indications: Clears heat and eliminates dampness; dispels stasis and disperses swelling. Treats wind-damp impediment (fēng shī bì) pain; sand qì (shā qì); abdominal pain; headache; toothache; pharyngitis; tonsillitis; gān accumulation; injury from knocks and falls; scrofula.

Dosage and method: Oral: Decoct (6–15g). Topical: Apply crushed.
