Properties: Bitter; cool.

Actions and indications: Clears heat and disinhibits dampness; quickens the blood and dispels stasis. Treats jaundice; inhibited urination; water swelling and abdominal distension; stasis pain due to injury from knocks and falls; blood dysentery; blood strangury; vaginal discharge; menstrual irregularities; concretions, conglomerations, accumulations, and gatherings.

Quality: Dry herbs with a purple-brown hue are the best.

Production area: Most parts of China.
