Use: Medicinal

Properties: Bitter, astringent, and numbing; warm; highly toxic.

Actions and indications: Relieves pain. Treats stomach pain; bone fractures; wind-damp pain; injury from knocks and falls.

Dosage and method: Oral: Decoct (0.3–0.9g) or grind to a powder. Topical: Grind and blend with wine.

Warnings: Contraindicated in cardiac failure and other heart conditions.
