Use: Medicinal

Properties: Sweet and bitter; cool.

Actions and indications: Cools the blood; disperses stasis; reduces inflammation and relieves pain. Treats digestive tract ulcers; enteritis; pulmonary tuberculosis; whooping cough; injury from knocks and falls; bleeding from knife wounds; painful pharynx; swollen welling-abscesses (yōng zhǒng); toothache.

Dosage and method: Oral: Decoct (9–15g). Topical: Apply crushed or ground to a powder and blended with liquid.

Production area: Guǎngxī, Guìzhōu, Guǎngdōng.
