Properties: Acrid and bitter; cool.

Actions and indications: Clears heat, moves stasis, kills worms, and resolves toxin. Treats coughing of blood; pulmonary welling-abscesses (fèi yōng); parotitis; bound stool; toxin swelling of welling-abscesses (yōng); eczema; scab (jiè) and lichen (xiǎn); injury from knocks and falls; scalds.

Dosage and method: Oral: Decoct (9–15g). Topical: Apply crushed.
