Use: Medicinal

Properties: Sour and slightly astringent*; balanced*; nontoxic*.

Actions and indications: Clears heat, expels wind, disperses stasis, and disperses swelling. Treats pulmonary welling-abscesses (fèi yōng); painful swollen throat cinnabar toxin (erysipelas); massive head scourge; japanese encaphilitis B; injury from knocks and falls.

Dosage and method: Oral: Decoct (30–60g fresh) or drink diluted extracted juice. Topical: Apply crushed.
