Properties: Bitter; cold.

Channel entry: Heart, liver, and large intestine channels.

Actions and indications: Clears heat and cools the blood; transforms phlegm and relieves cough; frees the stool and kills worms. Treats acute hepatitis; chronic tracheitis; vomiting of blood (blood ejection); flooding; thrombocytopenic purpura; dry and bound stool; dysentery; scab (jiè) and lichen (xiǎn); bald scalp sores (tū chuāng); clove sores (dīng); boils.

Dosage and method: Oral: Decoct (15–30g). Topical: Apply crushed.
