Use: Medicinal

Properties: Sweet and bland; cool.

Actions and indications: Clears heat; disinhibits urine; disperses swelling; and resolves toxin. Treats heat dysentery; water drum; strangury; menstrual pain; hemorrhoids; painful swollen gums; toxin swelling of welling-abscesses (yōng) and sores.

Dosage and method: Oral: Decoct (9–15g). Topical: Apply crushed.
