Actions and indications: Dispels wind, disperses heat, nourishes the liver and brightens the eyes. Treats painful red swollen eyes; dim vision and aversion to light; ulceration of the canthus; tearing; nosebleed.

Quality: Plump light brown fruits are the best.

Production area: Shānxī, Hénán, Shǎnxī (Shaanxi), and Gānsū.
