Quality: Large plump hard seeds with black seed coats are the best.

Product Area: chiefly Húnán, Húběi, Fújiàn, Jiāngsū, Zhèjiāng, and Jiāngxī, with Húnán producing the best and Fújiàn producing the most; also produced in Shāndōng, ānhuī, Shānxī, Hénán, Liáoníng, Hēilóngjiāng, Yúnnán, Guìzhōu and Shaǎnxī.
