Properties: Bland and acrid*; warm*; toxic*.

Actions and indications: Promotes sweating; dispels wind; quickens the blood; and stanches bleeding. Treats wind-cold common cold; rheumatoid arthritis; injury from knocks and falls; amenorrhea; bleeding from external injury.

Dosage and method: Oral: Decoct root (0.3–0.6g), grind to a powder, or steep in wine. Topical: Apply crushed or grind and apply mixed.
