Use: Medicinal

Properties: Sweet; cold; nontoxic*.

Actions and indications: Clears heat and resolves toxin; disinhibits water and frees strangury. Treats urinary tract infection; urinary calculus; white turbidity; inhibited urination; nephritic edema; damp-heat jaundice; heat effusion, cough, and sore throat due to common cold; enteritis; dysentery; scalds; cinnabar toxin (erysipelas).

Dosage and method: Oral: Decoct (24–30g; fresh 90g); grind to a powder. Topical: Decoct as a wash or apply crushed.
