Origin in unofficial sources: Lycopodium serratum Thunb.

Use: Medicinal

Properties: Acrid; balanced.

Actions and indications: Abates heat (fever), eliminates dampness, disperses stasis, and stanches bleeding. Treats pneumonia; pulmonary welling-abscesses (fèi yōng); taxation damage vomiting of blood (blood ejection); hemorrhoids; bloody stool; vaginal discharge; toxin swelling from injury from knocks and falls.

Dosage and method: Oral: Decoct (15–30g) or stew with meat. Topical: Grind to a powder and apply dry or blended with liquid.
