Properties: Bitter*; slightly cold*; slightly toxic*.

Channel entry: Heart, spleen, and kidney channels.*

Actions and indications: Soothes the sinews, quickens the blood, fortifies the spleen and kills worms. Treats aching lumbus; numbness and tingling of the limbs; menstrual irregularities; water swelling; tooth decay; deep-source nasal congestion (bí yuān); gaping gums (yá xuān 牙宣).
